Every business I have built began the same way, inside the industry, not beside it.
Built inside the industry
I did not learn fashion business from the sidelines.
My work began with textiles and grew through garments, manufacturing, entrepreneurship, authorship and mentoring.
Fibres, yarns, fabrics, processing, sourcing, product development, garment manufacturing and business operations have been part of my professional journey. Today, I use that foundation to help aspiring founders understand the decisions behind a fashion business before they invest.

The founder path
From an idea to a fashion business, in the right order.
A fashion business is built through connected decisions. Skipping one usually creates problems later.
Market clarity
Define the category, niche, target customer and the reason the product should exist.
Product plan
Decide the range, design direction, fit, materials, trims and sample requirements.
Supply route
Plan fabric and trim sourcing, pattern making, sampling, manufacturing and quality control.
Commercial model
Work through costing, pricing, margins, working capital and inventory exposure.
Brand and market
Build the positioning, identity, sales channels and launch plan, then learn from the market and improve.
The detailed founder roadmap explains each stage. The right support depends on where you are now and which decision is blocking progress.
View the Complete Founder RoadmapHow I can help
Start with the decision in front of you.
The right engagement depends on your stage, not on how many services exist.
Some founders need clarity before spending. Others need help selecting a niche, developing a product or choosing a sourcing and manufacturing path. I begin with the business problem, then recommend the appropriate engagement.
Product, Sourcing and Production Support
Support for identifying a suitable niche, planning the brand launch, finding reliable fabric and trim sources, and arranging pattern making, sampling and manufacturing support.
Speaking, workshops, strategic advisory and collaborations remain available for businesses, institutions and industry organisations.

30+ Years in Business: Lessons No Textbook Could Teach Me
Some lessons come from classrooms. The ones that shaped me came from markets, factories, customers, suppliers and mistakes. Seven of them, in plain words.
Why Most Fashion Startups Fail Before Their First Collection
The most damaging mistakes in a fashion startup happen long before the first garment is made. Where founders lose the business on paper, and how to avoid it.
The Real Cost of Starting a Fashion Brand
The real cost of a fashion brand is not one number. It is a set of categories, most of them invisible until you meet them. A framework for thinking about what it takes to begin.
Whatever you are building, the right time to understand it is before you begin.
The next decision
Do not spend on product before you understand the business.
If you have a serious fashion brand idea, begin with a paid strategy session.
We will examine your idea, current stage, questions and immediate priorities. If a structured programme, sourcing support or manufacturing support is appropriate, that discussion follows the session.
For founders prepared to make decisions and invest in building the business. This is not a free end-to-end consultation.
